JOURNEY with Plant Medicine
We are calling forth those who wish to join us on a journey with Plant Medicine, the Grandmother plant medicine, led by a Shipibo shaman in the lush jungle paradise of Costa Rica.
Our collective intention is to:
- Receive this medicine in reverence to the original lineages, in this case the Shipibo of Peru.
- Honor the potent lands & ancestors of Costa Rica through ceremony and communal celebration.
- Cleanse our bodies, minds and souls through the grace of Plant Medicine, nature and community.
If you feel the call to journey with Plant Medicine in a supportive space with direct ancestral lineage, experienced facilitators, and lush nature, you have come to the right place.
Meet your Shaman
MOKAN RONO (Cosmic Serpent) is a Shipibo shaman who learned from an early age the ways of the plant medicines through his family’s Shipibo lineage.
His father was a highly respected shaman and his greatest teacher, and his mother a medicine woman who guides and protects him to this day.
Their lineage, the SHIPIBO CONIBO native community of the Peruvian jungle, channels the spirit of Plant Medicine through their songs which they call icaros.
With the sacred master plant, tobacco, and the sacred Florida water, he purifies the ceremonial space and connects with his lineage to offer a protected, potent medicine journey.
He travels often to offer his medicine and ceremonies. He is passionate about helping others learn from these plant medicines, and supporting his community back in Peru.

James and Areli have created something beautiful and have embraced it with respect and integrity to themselves, the medicine, the tradition, and to the people that they invite into their circle of healing and love. I have worked with medicine in the jungles of Peru, and while there is certainly benefit to having that experience if it calls to you, I hold this experience up to that standard in almost every way. There is calm, peace, love, and true intentionality to the space that they create. This is a place to come and be yourself in every way, to open to the wonders of your journey, of community and the medicine. It is a place to heal, to do the work, and know that you are held. I am forever in gratitude for having found this experience, and for all of the new wrinkles in the sea of endless magical wrinkles that were presented to me through it.

I’d love to thank the entire team from the bottom of my heart for this fantastic experience. Throughout the retreat, especially during the Plant Medicine ceremonies with Wilder, I felt safe, supported, and in good hands. The singing and musical accompaniment made it very special for me. I enjoyed the sharing circles as they brought another level of insight and made me feel immensely connected to the group. The retreat started with a welcoming and closing ceremony at the waterfall and river, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. I recommend this retreat to anyone ready to get in touch with themselves and get deep insights into their inner world. I’ll cherish this experience for the rest of my life and keep the messages received close to my heart.

A truly unforgettable experience. So happy I trusted the guidance of the Grand Mother and her calling. It felt like we created a family for the few days we were all together. Each person is accepted for where they are in life and who they are. Rooted in tradition and a lot of respect for the medicine. Wilder the Shaman made the experience even more magical with his great power of spirit. His songs along with James, Areli and Emmy supported you in your journey and really helped you to surrender into the healing. This experience changed me in a profound way and as I slowly integrate the teachings, I feel more will be revealed. Grateful for this time I was able to share with the Plant Medicine and the beautifully genuine souls along the way.
Testimonials from our February, 2023 Retreat
Deanna Swaney, former Lonely Planet writer & author
My husband and I attended the Shipibo Journey retreat in Costa Rica from 23 to 26 February, 2023, and I can say without hesitation that it was one of the most significant experiences of our lives. At first, we were hesitant because we are considerably older than any of the other participants, but those concerns were allayed on the first day, when it was clear that we were welcomed with open arms. For the entire time, the atmosphere remained positive, inspiring, full of love, and much like a very happy family gathering. The accommodation was simple but comfortable, surrounded by lush jungle vegetation, wildlife, and even a waterfall pool for cooling off, and the entire team remained accessible and genuinely cared for the concerns of every participant. Jimmy and Areli did a wonderful job setting up the program, Ra's meals were healthy and wholesome, and Michael's Kambo ceremony, as a detox measure prior to the Plant Medicine journeys, was heartfully prepared and administered. Most of all, though, the Peruvian Shipibo shaman, Wilder, set the tone for the Plant Medicine ceremonies with his beautiful mystical singing and strong spiritual energy, and his assistant, Emmy's hauntingly beautiful voice provided yet another dimension. During the ceremonies themselves, everyone appeared to feel safe, in good hands, and prepared to meet the abuelita on her own terms. Afterward, everyone came away with their own individual experiences of that meeting, as revealed in heartfelt sharing circles on the following days, but it was clear that everyone who participated regarded their own journey as a life-changing event. We certainly did, and do hope that someday we can return to continue the journey, hopefully with Wilder's help, on Mama Plant Medicine's terms.

Soulution's Plant Medicine Ceremony & Nature Immersion was so incredibly profound and transformative for me that it's hard to fully put it into words. A traumatic psychedelic experience a couple years ago had stolen my courage and left me feeling uncertain about myself and my path in life, so I wanted to do the Shipibo journey as a way to reset and settle my nervous system, regain my feeling of spiritual connection, and rediscover my purpose in the context of a responsible & respectful ceremonial environment. I accomplished all that and more during this retreat. By the end of the weekend, I felt like my life finally made sense to me; I have a better understanding of myself, I feel aligned with my purpose, and I found the confidence I need to go out into the world and put all the things I've been dreaming into action. The facilitators did a wonderful job supporting every participant before, during, and after the ceremonies, and they created a safe, sacred space for all of us to share and process our individual experiences. I felt fully supported and genuinely loved by the people in this group, and as a professional spiritual caregiver myself, I will never forget some of the amazing examples I saw of the facilitators holding space and providing authentic care when participants needed it. This was the perfect group and perfect setting for my first Plant Medicine experience. I would absolutely do this experience with Soulution again, and I've already recommended it to several friends.
